Our Bekal Memories

Dear Akriti,

Ever since you came in my arms, Your Papa and I just want to make every moment so memorable that we want to capture it in a photo, video or just in the memory but in the daily life, some moments get lost. The way you give reasoning, the way we (you and me) have spent together in the kitchen and the way you negotiate and make a deal to watch 2 episodes of your favorite show which I generally don’t allow. I wish to capture everything so that when we grow old, we have memories to revisit.

I have decided to write the experience of our trips, for all of us to cherish on our family blog which you might want to continue when we are gone.

Love Mumma and Papa 🙂

The Bekal Trip – Summer vacation means traveling experience for us and some learning. This time we went to Bekal a small historic town in Kasargod district, Kerala.

We stayed in Taj Bekal Resort and Spa. Beautiful property by the sea which has a lot to do but all those activities are something which you say no to, so I have to design our own games. After all its all about us.

The day we landed after 8 hours drive from Bangalore listening to the same question “Have we reached” for the 100th time from you, We ate a very simple lunch of Lemon Rice.

While we checked in our Villa, your first reaction was “Mumma, We have a swimming pool in our room” basically it’s a private swimming pool which you love and always want in our house in Bangalore too. Ah !! Very difficult to build in Bangalore and even difficult to maintain.

Swimming pool became part of our life for 3 days as after every meal we entered the pool, after a walk, we entered the pool, when we have nothing to do we were in the pool.

These trips to the pool made your father, learn swimming who was so scared to swim all this life. What better achievement it can be. Who was the teacher? of course your mumma!!

Although you are a very well-behaved child but keeping you engaged every single minute is a challenge for both of us as you get bored within seconds.

Thanks to your dolls which we carry everywhere to keep you busy for a few hours.

We went to “Kappil beach” and collected shells, we enjoyed the buggy ride back to our room s you refused to walk.

The Food especially morning buffet is what we enjoyed the most as it has a variety of juices, waffles, pancakes, continental cuisines to our very own idli sambhar. What you liked was seeing and admiring it.

Lemon Rice, Tamarind rice, tomato rice is what we ate for dinners so that its light for stomach and we realized that we are really following a healthy regime even while we are on the vacation.

Lunches were Avial and Malabar paratha homestyle coconut stew and rice. Oh, the aroma of fresh coconut is intoxicating.

The garlic chutney at one of the 3 restaurants “By the bay” at the property was so inviting that we ordered it twice. and wiped off everything.

We did quite a bit of photoshoot which is your mum’s agenda for every trip and used you for holding the reflector. Sorry!!

Kirti

We invented our pillar to pillar game, played hopping on stones and lots of random imaginary games of pirates and sea voyages.
